Time and time again I am sitting at my desk hours before a settlement waiting on a bank to upload funds or enter their payout figure on the day of settlement. It is not possible for conveyancers to work efficiently when they can't take their eyes off the screen or leave their desk on the day of settlement. Why is it the banks are leaving this until the last minute. It causes time wastage. They aren't the only parties to the transaction. It has to be teamwork.

I am so with you there. I sent a conversation at 10.00 am today for a 2.00 pm settlement requesting that they attend to outstanding matters. Once again, settlement has fallen through at 2.00 pm. Wonder why we don't like this system???

I agree, I cannot understand why banks have to wait 10 minutes before settlement before they sign and I could not even eat lunch properly as I have to nervously wait wondering if the matter will settle or not. Why do we have to send a conversation for them to act and do what they have to do and they do not even respond!?

We are also having problems where a bank will sign off in the morning, then not check the file for the rest of the day despite numerous messages. If something changes on the file and needs re-signing the bank is impossible to contact
