Discharge Authorities

Hi, just wondering if anyone is aware of the expiry dates on Discharge Authorities provided to the Mortgagee?

We've just received notification of an expired NAB Discharge Authority but it is the first time we've come across this.   There are no expiry dates listed on the Discharge Authority itself or in any Bank emails received.  NAB advises they are only valid for 90 days, noting it was provided in early September so would've expired back in December yet the NAB has only notified of this today, two days prior to the accepted settlement date.

Does this general rule apply across all Discharge Authorities??

Thanks in advance.

Re: Discharge Authorities

I've never seen it in writing or on a discharge authority however I have been advised of the same requirement (90 days) by at least 3 different banks.
