I was released from being a guarantor on a house about three years ago by the bank. I recently paid the mortgage off on my house, and went to the land titles to get the banks name off it. I was told that the mortgage that I had been guarantor for, was still connected to my property even though I was released from it. So I would have to pay for two land titles instead of one. The actually second property (that I was released from being a guarantor on the mortgage 3 years previous,) was actually paid out last year and the banks name was taken off that land title then. Is this correct that I need to pay for 2 titles even though one title was cleared up last year? Or should I just be paying for one and this is a bank error.
