Hello to all of our ACT Practitioners. My name is Amanda Keenan and I am a PEXA Partner in the ACT and NSW. I have worked with many practitioners in the ACT and who transact in the ACT over the past several years, assisting them in setting up their NSW practice on PEXA. I cannot wait to work with you in relation to ACT transactions as well.
We are excited to be collaborating with the ACT Government and industry to deliver an electronic settlement solution to the ACT, which will be launching in December 2021.
Currently in pilot, we were thrilled to work with Peter Romano and Andrew Satsias, Practice Directors of Velocity Conveyancing Group to lodge the first electronic property transfer in the ACT. The transfer workspace also contained a mortgage.
The settlement proceeded seamlessly and as a team we are now working together to lodge more transfers through PEXA in anticipation of the launch date in the ACT.
Andrew Satsias, Practice Director at Velocity Conveyancing said “It’s an honour to have been involved in Canberra’s first digital property transfer but we expected nothing less as Canberra’s leading conveyancing business. The entire process was seamless and instantaneous. The efficiencies created by using a digital platform will benefit not only practitioners but also consumers. No more delays in settlement cheques having to clear in client’s accounts or lengthy processing times to have documents registered at the Land Titles Office. It’s a win for all.”
Peter Romano, Practice Director at Velocity Conveyancing said “PEXA already operates in NSW, VIC, QLD, SA and WA and we are thrilled that ACT property transactions have finally moved into the 21st century. As industry leaders we are delighted to be a part of the ACT pilot”
Our members have been eagerly awaiting the ACT launch of electronic settlements and should be proud as an industry to have worked together to bring about such a positive advancement for ACT property transactions.
