On the rare occasion that a paper certificate of title (CT) is in existence for a QLD settlement it is important to note that you must return the paper CT to the Land Registry prior to electronic settlement for cancellation.
Once the paper CT has been cancelled the Land Registry will then send you a Registration Confirmation Statement (RCS). Upon receipt of the RCS you should perform an Information Re-Supply in the Workspace to update the Certificate of Title status.
The Land Registry has advised that you should allow 5-7 working days after lodgement, however if you require it registered earlier, you may include a letter requesting that it be attended to urgently. It is therefore important to ensure, when a paper CT is in existence, that the CT is sent for cancellation as early as possible so that the electronic settlement is not delayed.
Instructions on the Land Registry requirements for cancellation can be found here.
