Some people think I am just a grumpy sod at times, but the simple words "thank you" are taking up too much time of my day! A PEXA message received - open, click - open PEXA file - to discover "thank you". The same is occuring in my Outlook inbox - countless emails previewed (not opened) with the words "thank you".
It is not that I don't appreciate being thanked - and please never think that because I don't thank you for doing your job - that I don't appreciate the end result of your efficiency - I want to thank you all now up front !
The fact of the matter is, that so much time is spent in a day reading and sending the words "thank you!"
I am sure the Banks and Financial institutions are cluttered with their "thank you" conversations
Lets all save each other distraction and time and stop the "thank you"
(Clients please don't stop the wine and chocolate and when the job is done - I will thank you in my final letter)

Thanks for posting this Michelle, while i cant say i am at the point of finding "Thank yous" annoying quite yet, i get where you are coming from.
I think maybe from a constructive point of view, behind the issue and as you said, clicking all the way through the workspace and conversations etc is a bit of a let down when we see a one liner and a waste of time.
The conversation application on PEXA looks to still be in its infancy and no doubt they are looking for feedback to enhance it just right.
I figure the reason behind a simple thanks is that the other side are trying to add their human courtesies to this digital platform, so simply acknowledging what you have said - by saying Thanks, they are really saying they have received and read your conversation in case you were wondering.
Maybe having a checkbox which states Thanks & Acknowledged + [timestamp] as optional would discourage one liners because if you just get a notification saying a message that you sent has been acknlowledged - it would not waste our time going into the workspace etc.
Just a thought....

We love receiving feedback from our members as we are always looking for ways to improve and we can only do so when members, like yourselves, take the time to send them through.

I like the idea of a little box that we can tick thank you (that does nothing else) - I imagine the Banks filtering through the thank you messages on a frantic Friday - I think they would appreciate less messages too !

On the topic of conversations (and apologies if this is not the best place for my comments), yesterday I started a reply to a participant and then at the last minute I thought I had better include the bank into my comments. I clicked the to add participants and lost my comments entirely. This also happens if I am part way through a comment and I have to review another page to confirm the facts (i.e. to confirm funds required etc.)
Luckily my comments are usually only a few lines and I have now learnt to copy my text before I click out of the conversation box, however, it would be helpful if there was a warning when you click out of a conversation that "you will loose your current comments if you continue, would you still like to continue?" or better still if a draft was kept if you click out of the conversation before hitting send.

That too is fantastic feedback and I have add this to our conversations enhancement list so that we can look at it in its entirety.

This has long been a frustration for us at Westpac as well, though I am sure we are also guilty of it at times.
We can add Conversations to this list like
I could go on.
I was very tempted to just type "Thank you" in this reply though.
