We are looking to enhance the conversations area of PEXA with the ability to mark conversations as read, complete and unread.
To start with we would love to get your feedback about how you are using the conversations and what is the best way to indicate that actions with a conversation has been ‘completed’.
We have come up with a couple of options:
Option 1: Allows you to mark a conversation as ‘Requiring Action’ as shown below.
When this checkbox is selected, it adds a completed ‘tick’ icon to the message so the recipient can select the icon without actually having to respond.
Both parties can then see that the required action has been completed.
Option 2: Allows you to mark an entire conversation as complete rather than the individual threads that have been marked as requiring action (as show in Option 1).

Option 1 sounds like a good idea
Option 2 raises a few questions to accommodate users who like to use the one conversation thread instead of a separate conversations per topic (Not sure if answers would be readily available) -
If you marked an entire Conversation as Complete is the other party still able to add to the thread or will they have to start a new conversation for an additional task?
Alternatively; if someone adds to the thread of a Completed Conversation - would the completed "tick" drop off to show there is a new action?

Thanks for your feedback!
To answer your questions:
If an entire Conversation was marked as Complete (option 2), the other party could still add to the conversation thread. Maybe we would have to also include the ability to remove the flag.
Alternatively; if someone adds to the thread (option 1) of a Completed Conversation the completed "tick" would remain with the completed item and then the additional thread could also be marked as 'requires action'. This would allow multiple conversation threads to be marked as completed within the one conversation.

I would prefer option one as often you make a request for action on one thing and then, once that has been done, there could still be something else that needs to be actioned.
also, I find it inefficient when we receive an email notification that there is a "new conversation" in pexa but you actually have to log in to pexa to read what it is. As per previous discussions with pexa re this, I now understand this could raise issues of privacy, however, I think we need to brainstorm some options here.
someone at pexa (sorry, can't remember his name!) suggested some standard responses that can be chosen from a drop down box and then these standard responses could be shown in the email we get from pexa so we know instantly what needs to be done. For example, the email could say something like:
ACTION Required! Please sign off on pexa!

Thanks for the feedback!
Having standard responses is something that we are looking at so watch this space!

I prefer Option 1. Will these "high importance" and "action required" fields be able to be shown on the email notification received as well? At the moment the high importance flag is only shown on PEXA?
If the "requires action" box has been ticked will this send a notification to the subscriber who posted?
I'm also keen on the standard subject and responses idea that can be shown in the email notification.
@dcondello - any thoughts?

Great feedback - thank you!
We are looking to improve the conversation email notifications so hopefully we can incorporate the 'high importance' and 'requires action' flags as well as standard subjects. Great suggestions!
The ''requires action' checkbox wont send a notification as the Subscriber will select this when they create/respond to a message. The email notification is sent when the Subscriber clicks send.
Would it be useful for a notification to be sent to the Subscriber who posted the message when another Subscriber marks it as complete?

I would prefer a notification advising "(Subject XYZ) has been marked as complete" instead of a subscriber sending another conversation.
For example, I could send a message with the subject "Create discharge of mortgage document" and when the other subscriber has completed this they would mark the conversation as complete without having to reply. If this generated a notification from PEXA advising "Create discharge of mortgage document has been marked as completed by another participant" then that would be amazing.
