Calling all practitioner signers in PEXA!

Are you signing documents in PEXA on behalf of a practitioner firm or have recently set up your Digital Certificate to start signing? If so, then we would love some of your time to participate in our member survey. We have partnered with Qualie - an independent research platform to help us hear from you directly and to help make the survey a bit more interesting than usual. Click here to register now! The survey will commence in mid April.

It is my understanding that a lawyer's non-lawyer staff cannot sign on behalf of the law firm, however a licensed conveyancer can have unlicensed non-lawyers sign on behalf of the conveyancing business.

If this is so, am I the only practitioner who thinks this is dumb?

A huge thank-you to Members who attended our Open Day on Friday and signed up to participating in this survey! We hope to launch it in the next couple of days so please stay tuned! It was also lovely to meet a few of you in person and put some faces to names. I look forward to many more more meet and greets in the future.

@LawyersConveyancing I believe you are correct in regards to who can sign. I can understand your frustrations but unfortunately this is something that PEXA cannot change as it is governed by regulation. More details can be found on the ARNECC website here.

Thanks @PriscillaChan. I did go through the regulations and ARNECC and I have found that it is really just a ruling by the Legal Services Commissioners. Nonetheless, I still want to put it out there that the decision of the Legal Services Commissioners is just dumb and creates unnecessary problems. What's more it makes it embarrassing to be a lawyer rather than a licensed conveyancer, given the abovementioned implications.
