NSW Transition to digital commences 1 March for practitioners who mortgage process
NSW Transformation 2017
In May 2016, the Registrar General’s revised Conveyancing Rules came into effect, paving the way for paperless conveyancing.
More specifically, from 1 March of this year, all standalone discharges and standalone National Consumer Credit regulated mortgages must be lodged electronically when the mortgagee is an ADI (Authorised Deposit-taking Institution).
Followed swiftly by 1 August when all commercial standalone mortgages where the mortgagee is an ADI and refinances (when both mortgagees are ADIs) must be lodged online by ADIs.
