With the current industry climate and change we’re seeing across the state, it’s wonderful to see members putting their hand up to share their experiences and journeys with their peers. It’s important to remember that we’re all on this journey together and over the coming months we will be sharing some Q&As from the network, discussing the current market trends, working in partnership with PEXA and the lessons learned along the way. This week we feature Craig Ray & Associates who are a Brisbane based firm located in The Gap. Craig Ray & Associates have been with us since 2015 and are what we would consider to be an early adopter of e-Conveyancing in Queensland. To date they have completed 100+ transactions and have been a strong advocate for PEXA, providing guidance to other firms new to the platform and proactively sharing feedback with us to help the member experience for all improve. I had the pleasure of speaking with Matthew Ray from Craig Ray & Associates – here’s his quick e-Conveyancing Q&A.
Have you had to adapt your working environment since COVID-19?
Yes, the nature of legal practice has changed significantly due to reduced face-to-face contact with clients, courts and other service providers. Staff working off-site has raised new challenges and opportunities also.
If so, how is your firm managing to stay connected and together?
Digital platforms for communication, such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom, have proved invaluable when keeping connected with clients and team members off-site.
How have you maintained connection and the relationship with your clients during this time?
Clients have been very understanding and appreciative of the changes to the lawyer-client relationship that has occurred because of the pandemic. We have maintained connection and relationship with clients through online appointments, limited face-to-face contact, and regular updates.
What’s your favourite help tool on community?
The Announcements page and QLD specific page are great resources to quickly check for updates and new ideas to make transacting on PEXA easier.
Why do you use PEXA Community?
So that I can keep a link with updates from PEXA about important announcements about the platform. It is also great to keep in touch with other legal practitioners about changes, challenges and issues they have encountered, and learn from a community of colleagues.
Keep an eye out for more member interviews in the weeks and months ahead – thanks to @MatthewRay for sharing the insights and we hope you find these useful
