Can we make a suggestion that settlements be able to be rescheduled for an earlier time at relatively short notice - especially when it is less than an hour and a half before the originally scheduled time? We have had instances where all parties had (within an hour or so of the original settlement time) agreed to and wanted to settle earlier but the options for rescheduling were only to delay the settlement time (not bring it forward). There have also been occasions where the Banks (or their Solicitors) have failed to sign off in time (we had one today where the Bank signed at 2.35pm for a 2.30pm settlement - so now we won't settle till 4pm!), meaning an extra hour and a half wait without any option to bring settlement forward. Is there a way this can be implemented? Interested to hear others' thoughts and PEXA's position on making this a possibility. If we can't get the Banks to hurry up and do what they should be doing (without being pushed and pushed) at least give us the option to bring settlement forward if all parties are ready soon AFTER the original appointed settlement time.
