The Westpac Group is proud to have joined other lenders Wednesday last week to discuss some of the opportunities to improve eTransfers and make it easier for everyone involved. As the first bank to pilot a proactive invitation process for PEXA purchase settlements, we were excited to participate in yesterday’s inaugural Transfer Settlement Workshop. This workshop included Australia’s largest lenders and their sub-brands.   While each lender has their own continuous improvement initiatives, yesterday’s workshop was an opportunity to work together in identifying key challenges that impact all industry participants and is expected to deliver consistent change that will benefit the network.   The group agreed areas for improvement including early visibility of payout figures and conversation responsiveness. It’s wonderful to be part of this movement where we collaborate as a group to embrace changes in our industry for the benefit of our customers and the community more broadly.   ... View more

We joined the PEXA network earlier this year and commenced online property settlements with practitioners from June 2016 and haven’t looked back!   Our industry is undergoing major transformation as we all strive towards a 100% digital future. Transitioning to digital property settlements is an important initiative for us as part of our vision to be one of the world's great service companies helping our customers, people and communities to prosper and grow.    Challenging the status quo Beginning in August 2016 we piloted a new process for initiating online settlements in Victoria. We proactively opened the PEXA workspace and sent invitations to other workspace participants for transfers. This challenges the current process where the task of opening workspaces, identifying other participants and sending invitations sits with the practitioner.   The majority of practitioner feedback has been positive and as a result we expanded this trial into New South Wales in early November.   As the first bank to pilot this new process we’re certainly listening to industry, customer and practitioner feedback.  We look forward to transacting online with many more of you and hearing feedback from the e-conveyancing community.     ...
