With the ever changing circumstances of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, it is timely that I remind you of the importance of the Priority Notice, when transacting land.   Priority Notices play an important role in mitigating potential fraud and provide a similar level of comfort as that of the Duplicate Certificates of Title did, prior to the introduction of electronic conveyancing.   The use of Priority Notices is encouraged as it protects consumers and their interests when transacting land. This is particularly important in an environment where lodgement occurs through the different mediums of paper and electronic channels. It becomes even more relevant should an event arise where dealings are either unavailable electronically and/or you cannot attend the Land Services SA’s office in person.   Read our CEO, Brenton Pike's views at: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/why-some-lenders-purchasers-insisting-priority-notices-brenton-pike   #landservicessa #property #conveyancing #fraudprotection #riskmitigation ... Hi @S_Bungey,   As the product owner for Priority Notices at LSSA I'd be happy to answer this one for you.   Unless there has been an error made on your priority notice, there is no need to withdraw it. The PN will not affect settlement unless the details do not match the documents being lodged via the PEXA workspace.   It is preferred that it remains on title up until settlement to mitigate the risk of any unexpected lodgements taking place prior to your settlement. It will then drop off as the documents are lodged.   Thanks - Jess ... View more
